Step one
The first step to first step to renaming unicode files is to select the folder containing the filenames you wish to rename, this is done by simply selecting the folder in Quick File Rename. The working mode is set to Files Only so only files will be renamed. |
The Unicode folder contains the files that we want to rename |
|
Step two
The second step is creating your rules to decide how to want to rename. Here we want to replace 水好あwhich is a mixture of Chinese and Japanese characters. We want to replace these characters with the words "GoodWater". To do this you go to the parent folders to our file names. You do this by going to the Replace tab and perform an Occurence-based replace, replacing " 水好あ" with "GoodWater". Once these fields have been entered, add the occurrence-based Replace rule. |

As soon as the ruleset is added, the preview window will be updated as well. We are allowed to preview our before and after changes.
The Preview window will be updated to show before and after rename. You can see that the " 水好あ.txt" filename will be renamed to "GoodWater.txt" |
