Welcome to the skins section. What is a skin? A skin is a bitmap or a picture you use to enhance or simulate an interface.
For example you could create a skin theme of the simpsons and make funky looking buttons so that each button does something.
One popular application that uses skins is Winamp, the popular audio player.
I have made skins for winamp, but not the application but a plug-in, in this case, DFX. The DFX plug-in is the BEST audio
plug-in I have used, ever. The sound enhancement is incredible, you have to experience it for yourself. Check it out at fxsound.
DFX skins
Official MusicMatch skin
I created this skin for Power Technology, creators of the DFX plug-in. It only works on version 6.0
The manufacturer approached me asking me to design a skin which looks similar to the MusicMatch jukebox colour scheme and design, and this is the end result.
I used the same shiny metallic interface, with embossed buttons, and a "cut-out" backdrop for the sound controls.
The final version (which comes packaged with the DFX plug-in for MusicMatch jukebox) looks similar, except they changed the title and added the DFX
logo. If you like this version which I proposed, you can download the main.bmp file here and replace it with the one found in Dfx\skins\wide_MUSICMATCH folder.

Luna XP
This is a skin I created a few months ago based on the new Windows XP UI "Luna".
I called it "Luna XP" to name it appropriately. It's in fxsound's skin library in the best skins section and you can download
the skin from here. Graphics were created using Photoshop and enhanced
with filters. The slider bars were taken from desktop properties. ;)

"DFX and Microsoft get married with this skin. Our family will rule the world! Seriously, this skin is expertly designed and it's so colorful, you'll never get bored. A+ skin."
Mac FX
I created this skin in July, it's based on the classic Macintosh interface. I did a search on Macintosh PCs and cropped the necessary components as needed and stiched it up to form an interface,
sort of like graphical cosmetic surgery. Graphics were created using Photoshop and enhanced
with filters.

Hands FX
I created this skin in July as well, the same time with Mac FX. It has an irregular shaped interface, like a palm.
I scanned my hand and applied all these filters to it, and this is the result.

War Sucks!
This simple skin was created back in July. (same time as Hands FX and Mac FX.. how ironic is it now, considering recent events... hmm)
I did a search on nuclear war and found a few images, picked this one and did some colour adjustments to it before applying
emboss effects to create the border.
